Gaboooda

The Greatest Toy Shop in the world, haunted by the darkest creatures of Fey

Gaboooda is a toy making shop in a land teaming with fairies, because of the fairies tendincy to switch their babies with those of humans, many of the people in the area are in reality fairies themselves. This along with the beauty of the surrounding area has helped to to produce some of the worlds greatest artists. This has helped Gaboooda to design brillent and beautiful toys for children the world over to enjoy.
But it isn't only the skill of the toy shops caftsmen that makes it great for in a region with so many fey there are many brownies as will. These brownies have come to enjoy sneaking into the shop at night to create interesting toys.

The owner of the workshop has always been a pleasent man and so normally working in the shop is pleasant and as happy a place to work as children are to receive the wonderful toys which it makes.

Then some of Gaboooda's toys started coming to life attacking their owners before fleeing. Reports came in from the world over that Gaboooda's owners where demons. Fearing for their livelihood and upset that their creations where doing acts of evil Gaboodas owners began to investigate. Or so they said, however on entering their shop all the lights went out and the owners have not returned.

Many in the town are worried that whatever is causing the trouble has attacked the owners, others fear that the owners themselves are actually demons, and that they are planning dark deeds inside their once cheerful toy shop. The King wants to know the truth and will pay any adventurer 3,000 gold to discover what is happening within the shop and to get ride of the evil that resides there whatever it may be.

What’s happening?

The shop has become home to a bogel and an evil pixie sorcerer who rules over a small band of pixies. As part of their schemes they have brought a group of baby mimics into the shop in hopes of spreading their mischievous chaos all over the world. Within the shop the bogel is making all the toys move and attack with his animate object powers, and the pixies will strike like ghosts to add to the creepiness of the place as a whole.

At the moment the Pixies are attempting to force the owners to agree to make toys again, so that the pixies and bogel may start having the baby mimics shipped out again. The owners however are refusing to do this but for how much longer they can withstand feys tortures can’t be certain.

To make matters worse the general creepiness of the toy store now has also brought in some dark feyrie, who will add to the chaos within the store and may even begin to form a new type of fey that pretends to be toys.

The store/storage room is a place where the toy makers placed all their finished toys to be sold  or shipped off to foreign lands. The room is filled with bright shelves and displays; and a small cheery shopping counter which sits beside the door. However despite the cheery decorations the room is now dark save for a dim eerie light which although this light seems to follow them it has no starting point. As the PC's walk through this room they hear occasional childlike but malicious giggles from all around them. Soon a music box can be heard playing, and the sound of tiny prancing feet follows the PC's. Then one of the teddy bears on a shelf grins at them showing long razor teeth. As they react too this the toys on the shelves on either side of them come to life and attack.

100 toys and 2 baby mimics

Toy Swarm...

The toys attack as a swarm each only has 1 hp, and their AC is 6. The toys attack an individual PC in a group of not more then 20 and gain +1 to their attack bonus for every 3 of them.

They cause damage based on the number of toys there are as follows. Under 3 toys 1-2 damage, 3-5 toys 1-4 damage, 6-8 toys 1-6 damage, 9-11 toys 1d8 damage, 12-14 toys d10 damage, 15-18 toys d12  damage, 19-20 toys 2d6+2 damage.

Although the toys attack as a unit only one can be killed each attack (except for area of effect attacks) making killing lots of them difficult.

After the battle giggling and crying can be heard echoing around the PC’s, and small lights can be seen dancing up and down the rows of toys. Ghostlike children are also seen but they vanish when the PC's turn to look at them directly. All of these things are merely illusions created by the feiries designed to scare or annoy the PC's.

As they turn a corner they see a giant teddy bear holding a crying child. The teddy bear acts to comfort the child, and both look pleadingly at the PC's as they approach. They like everything else however are not what they seem, the teddy bear is a small mimic and the child is merely an illusion.

Another group of 100 toys attacks the PC's along with the Mimic, while the “child” passes out.

When the PC’s try to wake the child she disappears in a flurry of giggling.

The Pixies will then set about trying to startle the PC's by making objects fall and crash near them.

During one such crash one of the PC’s will feel something tug at their hair. A pixie tied a string to it and to a bunch a toys which fall off the shelves and then are animated to run and try to drag the PC along with them.
The  group of 4 toys only has a strength of 7 however the hair pulling can be very painful. The PC’s struggle with the toys the Pixies erupt into laughter around them.

The Break Room

The break room is filled with the smell of the rotting and stale lunches of the people who used to work here. The tables and chairs have been moved to form sort of a haphazard wall. The room itself is brightly painted and decorated with 3 giant model toys, a ballerina fairy, a bear, and a stuffed owl. These are two large animated objects and a medium sized mimic, that will act like they mean to hug the PC's and then attack.

First Door on the left

This room is a dusty workshop filled with half made toys which now lay scattered about the floor. A creepy music hovers over the area like a funeral song mixed with a lullaby.
As the PC's make their way across the half finished toys a doll with no legs will start dragging itself towards them. Then all the toys will come to life and attack the PC's with the nails used in their making, or tools. This allows the toys to cause +2 damage.

120 Toys, and 6 baby mimics.

At the back of the room is a strong box where the treasure was stored. Picking the lock requires a DC 20. Inside the PC’s will find 300 Gold.

On their way out of the room one of the Feyrie will possess one of th e PC's secretly who will start to act like a slightly crazy child giggling oddly and playing with the half made toys in the room.

The toys will then attack again as the possessed PC begins to dance and sing a childrens song..

Second door on the left.

This is another workshop only the toys that fill this room are grotesque or just very strange, made by the bogel in an attempt to begin production again. It was realized that he just did not understand how to make such things, so this room was converted into the mimics nest. The Baby mimics have had nothing to eat for a week and so are starving, and will attack the first living thing to enter the room in a ravenous wave of razor sharp teeth.

48 baby mimics.

As the PC's begin to wipe out their precious mimics nest and their plans the Pixies grow furious and begin to attack the PC's openly

14 pixies.

At the other end of the workshop is broken door and the room with the statue of the companies founder (large animated object, with hardness of 6). This is also where the pixies are hiding some of their treasure which includes 6 paintings of nature scenes worth 100 Gold each and 400 GP.

The Door at the end of the hall Leads to the owners living room, the only light is that which filters in through the glass doors to the sitting rooms. The smells of drift lazely into the room from the dining area.

The living room has a feyrie sitting on the rocking chair which looks like an old lady reading a book to a child, surrounded by dark and twisted creatures. This Feyrie will attack the PC’s as a witch launching fire and curses as she flys into the air shrieking and cackling. The Dark creatures surround the Pc's giggling like children. They are Pixies surrounded by illusions.

14 Pixies

1 Feyrie 12 HD (42 HP) AC 22
Cast Fire Ball, Greater Curse, Hold Person, Greater Illusion, and Cause serious wounds, and fly at will.

The sitting rooms on either side of the living room filled with captured light fey, flimsy little fairies that bend the light to create minor illusions in order to create beautiful but temperary works of art. When the PC's open the doors to the rooms the light fey will swarm out like an aurora. Many of them however will secretly follow the PC's for a time making illusions to help them, such as causing an illusion of what lays behind a door to appear in front of the PC’s or distracting an enemy with an illusion.

The Light Fey are too shy or weak to do much else, though they are nearly impossible to actually harm either.

When they open the door to the dinning room the scent of rotting garbage and escaping flys both hit the PC's. The Dinning room has been torn apart and littered with half eaten food and broken dishes.

As the PC's enter the room the Dining table rushes at the PC's like a mad dog (Medium animated object) and the 14 chairs as (small animated objects,) attemtp to flank them.
During the battle the giggling will return, and the Pixies will try to drop a chandelier on the PC’s head causing 4d6 damage.

After this the 8 Pixies in the room will attack the PC's with their bows and then flee out the windows.

Before they even open the door the PC's can smell the cooking, even over the garbage of the dinning room. And the sounds of pots and pans banging together and scrapping agrivates the PC's like fingernails on a chalkboard.

Upon entering the room the PC's discover the True meaning of Chaos, as 20 Pixies try to cook 20 different dishes. The Pixies are laughing and singing house keeping songs badly out of tune. When they notice the PC's however they begin to shriek and throw the knives, pots, pans and other kitchen items at them.

The Guest room is where the Bogel lives, so as the PC's enter it the room itself seems to come to life as the walls sway and bend The Bed rushes them trying to pin them against the creaking and cracking wall.  The Blanket and Pillows jump of the bed at them as the desk and chairs jump at them. During which time the Bogel will try to flee. However if the PC’s prevent him from doing so the bogel grows angry and animates the PC’s weapons. The Bogel will then attack the PC's with the furiousity  of a wild wolverinebecause like all bogels once this one is angered it becomes wild, and desires only to kill.

The Master bedroom is where the PC Sorcerer was staying, he however has already fled, swaring revenge on the PC's.

On the Bed the PC's will find the owner of the toy shop tied and gagged.

(Pixie sorcerer is level 10, and will plan some later attack on the PC’s perhaps manipulating them with dreams, curses, and other spells.)
