Fey Witch


The Fey Witch has devoted themselves to the world of fey, they are often outcasts who do not seem to fit in the regular world. Very similar to Druids, they found beauty and sanctuary in a realm away from that of normal humans. For them however the world they found sanctuary in, is a hidden one, an ever changing and unstable world of illusions, and glamor. This has the effect of making them seem overly eccentric at best and completely mad at worst.
For this reason many Fey Witches choose to live an isolated life in the wilds, or hidden away at the edge of a village. In lands where fairies are common however they may become an indispensable part of a society offering advice, and magical assistance, or in some cases ruling a village. Others live a double life, keeping their powers and their beliefs a secret from those around them, as a solitary practitioner living in a society.
As with most other things there are good and evil Fey Witches, and for them they truly are good and evil for although they follow that which does not have mortal and human morality and understanding, the witch should. Like the beings they follow however many witches begin to take delight in wanton destruction merely for the emotions it arouses and the feeling of power it gives them. In such cases they may seem to act in ways that seem meaningless and trivial, such as stopping a cow from producing milk to see how the family that owned the cow is effected and to feed on the emotions this causes.
Other fairies will do good deeds for the same reason, making a cow more productive, bringing luck to a beggar or healing a sick child.
Fey Magic is dependent upon Wisdom, but the rituals they utilize and the increasing of power are dependent on intelligence.

Fey Witches can cast any spell because they are using a magic not of the world to manipulate it. However because of its strange nature most of the spells cast by a Fey Witch are only 50% real, so that a fireball spell that would normally deal 17 points of damage deals only 9 points of real damage. The Fey Witch may however can spend twice as long as they normally would to make a spell 60% real and three times as long to make a spell 70%. Making a spell 100% real then would take 6 times as long as normal and so would not be useful to a combat situation.
Should their be no way to make a spell 50% real then the witch cannot cast unless they spend the time needed to make the spell wholly real.
The Exception to this rule are charm, illusion and divination spells which the with can cast normally

Knowledge of the Fey
Fey Witches gain a +4 check on bluff, sense motive, diplomacy, knowledge checks when dealing when dealing with fey.

Mix Potions
They gain the ability to mix potions equal in strength to whatever level of spell they can currently cast.

Fairy companion-The Witch gets a fey follower of CR 3 which can grow in strength and levels as the Fey Witch does.

Ritual knowledge they gain a +2 to the learning, creating, and using of rituals.
