                                               Part 1 Deer Run

Deer Run is the largest of the villages with 620 people it earns a large portion of its money on cottage industries, making and selling pottery, art, cloths, and other goods to the farmers of the three villages.

There are three restraint/taverns two of which let about 5 rooms each for travelers.

The Restraints are The Yellow Stag, Scrills Pub, and Demeths.

The Yellow Stag is a bright place more intended for young families and the women of the town, it is painted a bright yellow as the name would imply. The inside is still the natural color of the light wood which the building is made of. There are 26 tables able to seat 4 people conferrable.

The owner of the place is the also the cook, who along with his wife spends most of his time in the kitchen. Most of the dealings will be with their oldest son who as a rarity in the area is more then just interested in the outside world, he wants to travel in it. He has been practicing defense on his own, and is naturally gifted at it. (level 2 warrior). He will likely press the Players for details on the happenings in the surrounding region, and may offer to help them. (his parents would not approve of this)

There are 5 rooms however it is unlikely that this place has vacancies as the majority of the time its rooms are filled by 3 in the afternoon as this is the most popular place to stay.

Demeths, is owned by Fancha Demeth, it is built like a large fishing lodge and in many ways that’s what it is, a place for the older men of the region to come and get some fishing done it sits on the outside of town, along side the river.

Fancha Demeth, has never been married which suits him well but his bachelorhood has made him a bit of an odd figure around town. He tends to spend most of his time on the porch of his place chewing tobacco and fishing in the nearby river. This is his idea of working, when he’s not working he’s off fishing elsewhere. This means he knows the region better then anyone else, and so he can be useful to the PC’s for finding the best locations for anything.

As he is always busy and his waitress who is also busy does most of what cleaning is done however there is a limited amount that she has time for, so the place remains in a state of constant filth. For this reason the 6 rooms almost never fill.

Scrills Pub is has no rooms it is a more traditional pub, a place for the farmers to come relax after a hard days work. This place is mostly empty now, as anyone with families is staying with them and so there is less time to come here. The owner a middle aged man is a friendly man who has been left without Gin since the Juniper barriers where over run by goblins. He asks the PC’s to get him some of the casks from the Gin Cellar, and will pay 3 gold per 2 gallon cask they bring back. The Gin Maker was in the center of a large juniper berry farm, which is now filled with goblins from three separate tribes. This gives the PC’s some advantage, as the goblins will fight each other before they would fight the PC’s.

The mayors house also acts as the town hall as he lives above the large room used for that purpose though normally meetings are actually held in the city square.

The Mayor is a tall man, a farmer who has grown strong from the many years of bailing hay, he has started working to form a militia, and has hired a soldier to train it. He is a very diplomatic man, and is acting as a central point for the news of the region.

Renisa

A middle aged women with 5 children she is currently living with her friends as some creatures have taken up residence in her cellar, where she has large amounts of jarred food. Her husband and eldest son went down into the cellar to see what it was (this was before anyone realized what was happening), the son came up badly injured and with horror stories of lizard demons, his father, her husband never has. She wants the PC’s to go into the cellar to try to get ride of what’s down there, so that she can know what happened to her husband, and get whatever remains of their former livelihood so that she can feed her own children.

The Cellar of her house has a dozen kobolds living in it.

Crigoth

Crigoth is a simple farmer, he mostly grows corn and wheat, but he does have a pair of cows, recently however they have stopped producing milk, and worse still his daughter went into the barn to milk them, and was cursed with horribly swollen limbs and face by a hairy little creature in the barn. He can Pay the PC’s the value of a donkey or a donkey as they choose to get rid of the creature.

The creature is an Al

A group of bandits have set up camp outside the village and have been attacking it occasionally, hitting the farms, and robbing the people in them.

14 or so level 1 fighters

The Mayor will hire the PCs to see if they can get rid of the bandits.

The farmers of the region have been having problems with creatures attacking and taking their chickens and goats, at first they thought it was a pack of coyotes, but then the creatures attacked the people watching some goats, killing their dog, and injuring one of them.

With so many attacks the people who raise chickens and goats can no longer earn a living, and so need the PC’s to attempt to get rid of the creatures.

The creatures two small packs of gnolls that don’t get along with each other.

A farmer was attacked when he went into his small orchard by something that he believes used magic to sting him so many times he nearly died of blood loss.

The orchard is filled with unseelie sprites who have created a new mound.

A second group of bandits has set up shop to the south of the village, although they where originally mostly content to live off of petty theft, they have started kidnapping people in hopes of selling them off as slaves for more money.

A young giant has been separated from its clan as they fled north, it has made its home inside a barn where it has eaten the cow and the horse that where in there, and knocked the farmer into a coma.

The young giant is terrified and afraid to leave the barn it hurls bails of hay a short distance as weapons, or uses the pitch fork as a club.

The Young Giant has half the hit dice of a regular giant, and has 20 str.

Prlease return for further adventures in Cochan
